a divorce left me in more debt than I can ever repay. I own nothing, and the stress is unreal. what are my options? Is bankruptcy the right thing to do?

if the debt is not your debt you can dispute it, bankruptcy should be a LAST option. try some credit cleaners not the consolidators but cleaners. what they do is dispute you debts and if they dont get a letter back from your debtor in a certain ammount of time they can remove that portion from you record. the ones that stay would probably be more manageable and then you might be able to look into consolidation. I am going to be going through that process soon myself.

possibly, but even bankruptcy costs money. Call a debt consolidation place. They generally do counselling for free.

there is a website that u can check and call for counsel. i was in same circumstance in 2000 and did not file and dealing with some judgements but it depends on what state you live in as far as statue of limitations. it's a good website and couseling.www.creditinfocenter.com

Possibly consider debt consolidation.. I think it is a little easier and nicer on your credit score.

My Father filed it if he would have not he would have gone to jell 4 a year but it depends on the level.

Sometimes that's the only thing to do,and the best way,not easy to stat over, but even the rich have to start over sometimes.
