anything with johnny depp and loenardo dicaprio in it is worth paying five to ten bucks to see them on big screen. just dont bring a guy with u he might catch u drooling on his leg. if u bring a friend the right one would be a chick,or a gay guy they can drool with you!

I will firstly say that after seeing the trailer and previews for this film I had serious doubts. I was afraid that the producers would just try to cash in on the original's success, and forget about any content.
I was pleasantly proved wrong.
This is the most fun I've had in the cinema in the longest time. I can't remember the last time I was so entertained.
Although it is a bit slow at times, and a bit predictable (although fun in it's predictability), it hardly lets up and continuously entertains.
If you loved the original, you will DEFINITELY love this film. The ending not only makes you laugh, it makes you think "What the hell?" and will make you eagerly anticipate (major understatement) the third installment.
There are some great lines, the same fun characters, an inventive and fun story, and some brilliantly staged action sequences.
In summation: SEE IT! See it on the big screen. If you miss it, you will surely regret it.

In my opinion, no. I give it thumbs down. I liked the first "Pirates of the Caribbean", but the sequel is slow, and makes little sense. For one--and this is only one--we're told that Davy Jones, in the past, extracted his own heart and placed it in a chest, which is the "Dead Man's Chest" of the film's title. Davy Jones, in this movie, is an undead pirate. We're told, furthermore, that he may only come on land once every ten years. All kinds of people are trying to find this chest because whoever possesses Jones's heart may control him. This chest is on an island. Who, exactly, buried it there? If Jones did, don't you think he would have put it somewhere where he could have some kind of control over what happened to it?

It is so worth seeing in theaters, but make sure you see the first one first. Also when the movie is done stay and wait until ALL of the credits are done cause something funny happens at the very very very end.

yeah, it's worth seeing at the theater. Unless you have a really big TV. Some scenes are better on the movie screen!

Judging from the box office receipts, it must be good. I'm taking my family to see it soon. Heck, how bad can a pirate movie with Johnny Depp be? Anyway, IMDb gives it 8 stars. That's good enough for me.

No more than the first one, which I didn't see in the theaters either-- and after seeing it on DVD I was glad I saved my money!

It is an AMAZING movie, even better than the first one. The reviewers deconstruct it too much. See it and enjoy it. There are serious plot advances.
