I feel that certain crimes have increased but many crimes have now been brought out in the open, like sex offenders. When I was younger, I know I saw and understood much more than my parents had ever seen..now as a parent, I try to keep very much up to date. So my answer would be ... the same just broadcasted more.

I agree for once with the majority it is a lot worse. It has continued to get worse since the Sixty. It used to be a big national news event if some one was killed. Now, it occurs daily in every city both, big and small.
It used to be that we knew our neighbors and we knew when someone was going wacko and everyone reported anything out of the ordinary; today every one lives isolated life's.
TV too has played a role in that nothing shocks us anymore.

I rarely see a crime committed so I guess it's about the same. I think drivers have gotten worse. It depends on where you live. In Oregon there are a lot of yellow and red light runners. Here in Georgia there's a lot of speeding but nobody runs lights at least.

Far worse. The laws have gotten to pro criminals these days. Children have no morals and parents have less and less control over their children. Teens are no longer afraid of law enforcement and have no respect for their elders.
Society sucks now. There is no pride in this country and no morals. Disipline has to be allowed back into the homes. I do not agree with abuse at all whatsoever but a good smacking for talking back and disobeying your teachers, parents, adults is needed.

far worse, and far more violent. People today seem to have no morals, or respect for others or themselves. And criminals are getting meaner, and younger as the years pass. There are millions of sociopaths roaming North America just looking for a crime to commit.

I believe it's far worse. I'm age 45 and I can't believe how disrespectful and arrogant today's society has become. It seems everyone is so interested in their own little worlds and don't care how they treat other people in their quest to live "the good life", even if that means gaining at another persons expense.

It's much worse and it continues to get worse every year. I'm 31. We are living in the "Last days" of this system as we know it.

I believe it's gotten worse, not better, I think the statistics they quote are less-than-honest, I think we've got some social problems that are building up and unless we face them honestly and directly, we'll see problems get worse. Jails are overflowing,
you've got things happening that shouldn't be, citizens need to actively support law enforcement in order for it to work properly...
