Yahoo search bar go to the pencil and Toolbar options and uncheck the box for auto help. This is to help you so you can just click on site you have been to earlier. You can also click on the Clear Search history below the Toolbar Option listing.

In the google toolbar click on options to stop it from the auto assist. You can clear the history by click on Google to the left and the Clear Search History.
