apply baby oil to the hair and gently massage....don't rub too hard. Take a baby comb and lightly go through her hair.

Cradle cap s just an excess skin cells. My daughter got it too. She did lose a little hair but this is what I did. When i washed her hair I massaged the baby shampoo in with a baby brush, then after bath, I rubbed baby lotion on the cradle cap. also, no hats, they made her head sweat and made the cap worse.

My baby is 5 months & has the same thing my ped. said never put baby oil on a baby. Also I seen on the news a couple of months ago a newborn died because of baby oil was rubbed on the baby as it does state on the bottle you can do but when they took the baby to the hospital the doctors said the baby oil suffocated the babies skin.I would of thought you can put baby oil on a baby for cradle cap also as that is what many mothers told me until I heard this so I threw out all the baby oil in my house.

Wash your daughter's head everyday with baby shampoo and gently brush it (while the shampoo is on it) with her baby hair brush. This will loosen the "cap" and it will soon disappear. Also, you may want to rub in a tiny bit of baby oil on her scalp after shampooing.

Think of it as dry and dead skin on her scalp. Or it may be caused by an exudate from the hair folicles that forms a crust. At any rate, brush it and it will soon be gone.

Use a small baby comb (the kind that the hospital gives you, is actually the best, use that if you still have it). Rub her hair in baby oil first, and use a lot of it. Comb out as much as you can, and then shampoo her hair. I only use Johnson & Johnson's, I find it gentler & cleaner than other shampoos that I've tried. If it ends up spreading to beyond her hairline, then she'll need to see a doctor.

Just leave it alone. Cradle cap is nothing more than dead skin...it's not painful or uncomfortable for a baby...it's just unsightly. Every time you wash your daughter's hair, a little more will come out. Eventually it'll be gone completely. My boys' pediatrician said not to use oil or grease of any kind...it does nothing more than clog the hair follicles. Besides, who wants a baby with greasy hair? Ew!

I got this method from a nurse years ago and it worked. While her hair is still sudsy from the shampoo, comb through it with a fine tooth comb. Then rinse. Do that a few times a week until gone. It seems that while the scalp is wet with shampoo and water the flakes scrape off easier. You said she has alot of hair, then I would first use a larger comb to get rid of the tangles first then use the fine so it will get to the scalp.

Rub baby oil into the babys hair then use a baby brush and swirl it over the scalp. When you wash the babys head alot of it should come out. Repeat as necessary.

Soak it with some baby oil before bathtime. Gently scrub it with a soft brush during the bath using baby shampoo. Might have to do it a couple of times in a row to completely get rid of it.
