Australia is the RESULT of British Imperialism! Just like America, Hong Kong, Ireland, India...
Isn't everybody in someone else's country? Hopefully the Dinosaurs don't sue for their land back!

Everyone immediately assumes that "imperialist" is a negative concept. The question was not "who was the worst imperialist?" but "who was the most imperialist?"
I don't think that Australia would count as "imperialist" by any stretch of the imagination - sure, it was part of the British Empire, but as an independent state I'm not aware that it has shown any inclination towards building an empire.
Britain is no longer imperialist, although it was in the past, of course. Therefore Britain was clearly "more" imperialist than Australia.
Whether or not imperialism is a good or a bad thing is surely a different debate?

At least the australians are going some way to exceptingthat the aboriginals are their heritage. Part of them excepting that is starting to disown the royal family.
Britain as a country has gone a long way in atoning for all the terrible things it did in its imperialistic past, unfortunately a lot of British people have not and like to hark back to another era when it was seen as great to march all over someones elses home and steal their land an lives.

I beg to differ. No offense, but bases on your opinion/logic, Americans will be more imperialist as they are still in someone else's country.
If you are talking abt past imperialism, the Brits are the worst. But hen so was the Spanish, Portugese, Dutch and French.

We still help run the administrations of several Carribbean islands as well as places like the Falkands. I'd say we are still too imperialistic.

Imperialists? Well, that's pretty much had it's day don't you think? Everyone all around is following the English mid century cue and liquidating their assets.
