How do we get rid of hookers?

Question

I have noticed the population of street walkers dramatically increase right up the road from where I live. How do we get rid of them?

The area of town I live is in the balance between going bad and going good.

The best way to end prostitution, is to help get the runaways off of the street and into a home of their own (apartment, etc.) and help them get back into school/college, and work a legitimate life- more often than not, all the younger prostitutes need, is someone to care.

As for the prostitutes who are "junkies", put them into long term (six months or longer) rehabilitation, and move them away from the area in which they were at. It is "People, Places and Things" that keep junkies going back after rehab, so to give them better people, new places and things of their own that they can be proud of, will help them to stay clean and not need prostitution.

I also suggest opening up "brothels" and legalizing prostitution if monitored, and licensed, and regulated by the state and or federal government-- legitimate business..

I think the oldest career in the world should be legalized and regulated. Lets think of parts of Nevada, where it is legalized...no street hookers, sex houses are limited to certain parts of town and it generates tax dollars.

We are human, to continue to live on earth we have to have sex....therefore "hooker" are away going to be a reality (because men always want more, more, more...beside the point I know!!)...I think better regulated, then wasting police time and losing tax dollars that could be used to do great things!!!

Nevada may have the answer. Nevada allows each county to decide whether to permit legalized brothels. Each prostitute is required to pass periodic health inspections and use condoms.

As for your immediate problem, ask for an appointment to meet with your local police or county sheriff's department community relations officer. They will explain what they can and can't do for you. If enough of your neighbors come with you, they may be motivated to do a full sting of the Johns. Hell, get them to invite COPS. It would make great TV.

I recommend taking the advice of Russian poet Ivan Chopovdikski. Another solution would be to legalize it and limit it to a confined area of town where it has the least impact on residents.

You know people just don't wake up one morning and decide to become a hooker. Bad situations put them there. The only way to get ride of them is to help them. Fine them a job a place to live. If its that big of a deal take it to you government in your town and they can help figure out a way to help them.

You can increase police presence in problem areas; that will mostly deter prostitutes. However, I don't think that will get rid of them, because the root of the problem is poverty. That's why prostitution tends to be more present in poorer neighborhoods. They look to get money somehow, and prostitution is one way to do it.

You'll never get rid of prostitution. It's been around since the dawn of time and our species is still very primitive. we still trade sex for money, we murder each other over race, over different points of views and money. We are still living in the dark ages.

why do they bother you? they provide a vital service to the male population. probably lowers the incidence of rape too. you might consider moving as there is no way to get rid of prostitution. that's why they call it the world's oldest profession
