Something to do with Feng Shui, its supposed to enhance the chi or something flowing into your house if you have a red object right outside of your houses entrance. Some people just make the door red.

Can't it just be pretty? There is symbolism in several different cultures for red and red doorways... but, on the other hand, it IS a lovely color.

red doors usually mean a place of refuge. churches used to paint their doors red to let soldiers know that they can stay there and not be killed.
