Presumably you are asking about too little. There's not a clear consensus on this question. Hgb as low as 5 (Hct 15%) were tolerated surprisingly well in Johovah's Witness patients who underwent large surgical procedures and would not accept blood transfusions. Generally we never let it get that low before we order a transfusion. Further if we are talking about patients with other diseases, especially heart disease, they would much less tolerant of reduced Hgb.
