Does increasted conglorate media ownership hurt the public's ability to acquire needed information?

Does it make acquisition of that information easier or more difficult?

---I'm on the negative side of the issue by the way.

These days, it's getting very hard to define "the public". From the conglomerate's point of view, they are looking at an increasingly diverse and fractured populace that simply won't "obey" their sea of subliminal commands. That's right, from Gannett to ABC it's all turning into a pile of crap.

This is not to say that there are not Children of the Corn and Stepford Wives eagerly awaiting their pre-processed orders for the day; but mass media, conglomerated or otherwise, is being forced to deal with a different crew that has an incredible array of options for information and entertainment.

I ask you, is it easier or more difficult to find information on all sides of an issue today than, say, 10 years ago?

yes, information that serves the corporate interests of the media owners is readily available and other information is completely ignored by corporate media and can only be found through indepent or international media stations or magazines,
