An Israeli artillery shell killed eight and injured 32 on a beach in Beit Lahiya on June 9; Israeli aircraft missiles killed 11 Palestinians on June 13 in Gaza City; and on June 20, at least one Israeli missile, apparently aimed at resistance leaders, killed three children and wounded 15.

The current invasion that began on June 25 has left 52 dead and counting. “Israeli warplanes and tanks never stop, day or night, firing heavy artillery against every target possible,” Rami Almeghari reports from Gaza. “Homes, institutions and infrastructure never escape the Israeli shelling; power and water plants have been severely hit so far, main roads have been damaged, buildings and homes have been shelled.”

I don't know, but gee ...could this latest action by Israel be the culmination of Israel's planned Jewish settlement withdrawal last fall? Heh, it doesn't matter if innocent civilians are killed. The only civilians left are ..Palestinians.

The state of Israel was legally created out of the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I. The area was desolate, desert and swamp, with some small towns and a few inhabitants, many of them nomads. The inhabitants considered themselves mostly Syrian. The Balfour Declaration issued by the British, who were given the mandate over the area by the League of Nations. Jews have lived in the country since Biblical times. The Arabs from the surrounding areas were lured to "Palestine" by the industry and prosperity that the Jews brought to the region. Envy, hatred and religious fanaticism turned the Arabs against the Jews. In 1947, under pressure, the British resigned their mandate. The same year, the United Nations mandated partioning of the territory. The Jews, though disappointed, accepted the partition. The Arabs rejected it and launched war against Israel. The armies of five Arab countries invaded. Following the exhortations of the invaders, the Arab residents got out of the way hoping to return after victory was attained. They could then reclaim their property and that of the Jews, all of whom would have been killed or would have fled. Israel won. That and that alone is the source of the Palastinian "refugees". Had the Arabs accepted the UN partition plan, there would now have been a state of "Palestine" for the last 58 years. The might have attained a similar level of prosperity, advancement and development as Israel. 50% of Israel's population now includes refugees from Morocco, Algeria, Iraq and Yemen. All were accepted by Israel with open arms and have become successful members of their society. The Palestinians refused to integrate these refugees into their population and instead confined them to "refugee camps". The ones there are now fourth generation and through no fault of Israel.

I guess you don't want to mess with Israel then huh? Innocent civilians getting killed... oh well! Too bad! That's just the way it is during war! Quit provoking Israel and all will be fine!
You seem to have all the facts on the adversary, what about the facts concerning all the unprovoked attacks and bombings that these asshole Palestinians have done to Israel for NO apparent reason? Just because they're Jews... what's that all about?
Personally, I hope they wipe the Palestinians off the face of the planet!

Palestinians abducted an Israeli soldier and Israel wants him back. If Palestinians want the mayhem to stop, they will extract the Israeli from the Hamas terrorists and return him. If they do not choose to do so, they will deserve whatever wrath the Israelis care to administer. Most of the Palestinians are decent people who don't care for the terrorists, but unless and until they purge their ranks of the criminals, they will continue to suffer, and deservedly so.

They are fighting Islamic terrorists. Israel withdrew from Gaza last year but the Muslims want to see the destruction of Israel. They were firing rockets across the boarder and then kidnapped a soldier, I think that is a good reason to invade.

Your information is pretty one-sided. Next time, look at what the Palestinians have done too. This was all brought on when Hamas kidnapped an Israeli soldier and tried to hold him for ransom.

Israel has a right to exist and to be respected and left alone. At least they are acting like Men and not cowards who sneak in and blow themselves up and yes I do believe the end of time is at hand.God will not allow Israel to be destroyed.Too bad their Arab neighbors have all mouth and no artillery to back them up.

Well, maybe its the suicide bombings and the deaths of innocent people, or maybe it's the rockets fired from Gaza, or maybe it's the kidnapping and killing of soldiers, or maybe it's the Palestinian desire to destroy Israel. I'm not sure, just a guess.

I saw a report that they have also entered Lebanon now. Now don't get me wrong, I'm an athiest, but if you believe in biblical prophecy, then these times are very scary. Israel beginning a large-scale offensive is a frightening thought.
