I think one 's own lack of experiences and quest to classify people does a lot for judgement. My character is judgemental in general because it makes it easier to deal with situaltions or people. I have to admit i have been way off base and have re-evaluated situations or people after knowing most all the facts.
Case in point for an example I was told to come directly to a job interview from my previous job and not to take time to dress for an interviewat first I was not to keen on this position - This was done on very short notice too. I had tennis shoes and blue jeans and needed a hair cut. The interview was for a department management position which normaly required a white shirt and tie. I was hired dispite my appearance , because it was my ability showing through on the interview not my looks on that day . One makes about what 15 different opinions in 30 seconds when meeting another.
Your upbringing and freinds can influence judgement too.
The idea that "all this is in the category of that" shows one,s own ignorance most often.

It is my experience that fear and ignorance make for a very judgmental person. Also, people who hate themselves project their hate onto anyone they think they can make into a victim. I worked with someone who had one of the best lives I have ever seen. All they did was complain all day and criticize everyone and make horrible comments and gossip. It has been my experience that owning alot of things and being considered upper class does not make for people to have actual " class". On the other hand I have found people who have lived through many problems and circumstances seem to have more compassion for others.

The root of this problem is very old. The human race has ingrained in itself that we must look at the differences between two things to define them as we wish. Though we are all made of the same thing and we have all the same feeling and emotions and indeed we all have the same thoughts from time to time. Still we look at the differences. When we began to think of things as being inherently different we began to judge them and when we began to judge we taught those judged to do the same by example and so it goes on and on. If you want to help stop it then be the one where you are who stops first and teach then the peace of no judging.

Everyone judges other people based on the standards they hold or what they expect people to be like. I guess less life experience can do that, or class, but it depends on the issue at hand.

It may not be THEY with the problem. You may be the one who is knowingly acting in a manner that causes you to look over your shoulder and all around to make sure no one is watching! If your actions change so will your perception of others.

I agree that it is sad when people are so critical and judgemental! In my opinion, people who are critical and judgemental are very narrow-minded. If you have an open mind, then you realize that it is perfectly ok if someone is different than you. We are supposed to celebrate diversity and we can't do that if we're critical or judgemental.

I think it's class, they probably think they are much better than others or that they just hate others of some reason that stops them from being the same.
