However, the law is completely dependent on which state you live in.
Try googling "Landlord Tenant law" and the name of your state.

They have to give you a notice, then serve you with an eviction notice if you don't move! Then they have to file in court to have you evicted, and you can request a hearing. You are looking at about three months for all of that to happen!

It may be different if it has to do with someone protected under federal law as handicapped!

Generally, 30 days written notice to vacate. Make sure you send it return receipt requested in order to have the legal foundation to take it further if necessary. Either that or a process server. After the 30 days expires, then there's cause for legal action for forcible removal if it comes to that. Good luck
