I think the world is only overpopulated in certain geographic areas. For example, there are huge amounts of land all over the world that are underutilized. However in many African and Asian countries the people have totally drained their natural resources. This leads to starvation, sickness, and a lack of employment. It is really hard to tell people they must limit the number of children they have. This is government interference and can have several negative consequences. Families often depend on having several children to find work that can support the family. This is a vicious cycle though because there is not enough work to go around.

No the world is not over populated. Some areas here in the US like New York, L.A. and others are over populated, but HUGE parts of the country are still wide open places with practically no one living there. I'm talking about nice areas in the US that whole new cities could be built in that could one day rival New York and L.A.

I think the big over population scare is largely coming from two groups. One is the folks that want to push abortion on demand, and the other are people that are, sincerely, concerned about poverty. I think the abortion advocates use it to justify abortion on demand and even forced abortion in some countries. I think the poverty issue has more to do with corrupt politicians, dictators, and business men that are only concerned with gathering wealth for themselves. You can go kill off all the poor people and the poverty problem will still be there because the real problem will create more poverty to maintain their wealth.

If the governments and businesses of the world were truly just and not so extremely selfish, I think the standard of living for everyone would go up and we would realize there is plenty of room for everyone. Sadly, we don't live in a perfect world.

I think the world is definitely overpopulated -- more than twice as many people now as when I was a child. Way too many, and the quality of life is way, way down.

But I don't think even the easiest and most effective kind of family planning will do any good because people have kids because they want to for the most part, not because they cannot avoid it.

Yes the world is over-populated. We can either fix this problem ourselves or the world will deal with us humans the same way it deals with every other species that exhausts its habitat. We are not exempt from the laws of nature.

nope. It is not overpopulated. If it is, then there is nothing anybody can do about it 'coz no one would be ready to obey the law which would say "no more than 2 children"
