Being a college student. I did take many AP courses. I took AP Government/Comparative Government, AP Calculas, AP Biology, AP Micro/Macro Economics, and AP US History. With all those classes, I did make it to college. I am currently attending UC Davis. However, my friend did not take any AP courses or IB (similar to AP) classes. She made it to UC Davis also. What I'm trying to say is: it is GOOD when college admissions look at your transcript and see AP classes with A or B grades. But if you load up on AP classes and manage to only pull C grades or Ds, its better not to take it and go with regular course.
So my advice to you, pick either: part-time job, or drop AP English, heck even drop one more AP class if your going to take up a job. A job takes up a lot of your time. Trust me! Good luck with admissions!

Wow, you are going to be busy, but my guess is you could handle it. I will say I took it easy my senior year, only taking the AP courses I needed to graduate with honors. Most colleges have placement tests for math and English (some even in addition to SAT or ACT scores). Have you talked with your parents about your worries? A real positive about taking AP courses is once you're in college, it will seem like an extension of high school and I don't think I sweated as much as some of my fellow students since I was already used to what my college professors expected. Have I gone on too long? Hey, is there anyway to earn college credits while you're in high school? If these count for that, you'll be ahead of the game, and that's a good thing, too. One more thing: I know when I've got a lot going on, I ususally perform better because I have to be organized and have to stay on top of things. Think about that, too.

Here is some 13 year old advice. Some students go to school
because the government inforces it but school is really preperation for the future and if your schedule is really bugging you choose it depending on what you want your career to be.
For example I chose wood-shop as my elective and take an after school program for enginering because I want to be an aerospace engineer which is when you design military planes and missiles or space shuttles. I did not choose any sports because I feel that it has nothing to do with my career in the future. And if your part time job is for college funds then try a student loan so you can pay for college after graduation.

I'm a teacher, and I just finished grad school. You should talk to your parents about easing up a little --you are still kindof a kid, and childhood is short. There is plenty of time for work. If you are scheduled for all of that, you are amazing, but in my opinion rushing it. Stress at sixteen or seventeen is not good. Ease up a little or a lot, and make the good grades in easier classes, you will still get into college and get scholarships! Enjoy school, enjoy life. Take it from me, high school is more difficult than college, and college is easier the higher you go, because you are studying only what you love!
Good luck, kiddo. Be proud of your acomplishments, learn from your failures, and try not to be hard on yourself.

No, whatever you do, don't drop ap english. Colleges, if you want to get into a good one, stay in ap english. It will pay off, in the future. One year of stress and hard work will result in a lifetime of some less ease.

Drop AP Govt. & Bio., and the part-time job - is it a have to situation? I just hate to see you spend your senior year missing out on everything and not having any fun. It really is the best time of your life! Whatever you do, good luck, don't let it stress you out & God Bless!

Ok, seriously, unless you are going on a soccer scholorship, I would drop that. School is way to important to drop classes over some sport. Work, well, you need to do that. But, and take it from my experience, if you are on student loans, they can pay for things when it gets a little tight. Hang in there, you'll be fine. Consider what I said about the soccer though.

It depends on what you what you want to be. English would be needed more if you were in a journalism type professsion, and if your good at soccer you could probably get a scholorship to pay for some of the money. It sounds like youre on the right track to getting into the college you want though.

keep the class, trust me one class won't make a difference in your stress level. I just graduated, and senior year is a breeze. I went to an extremmely difficult school as well. also 3 AP's looks good.

My goodness. No it won't effect where you want to go to college as long as it isn't Harvard. Also as long as your SAT and ACT score if fine ... and it seems you have a good GPA so I wouldnt stress... I would drop at least one class and focus on high school ... its the best time of your life ... you do need a lil social life hunny. Take care youll do great!
