Yes. The whole region is like a festering cluster of cancer cells that has been untreated for too long. It - the violence and unrest - will spread. In fact I think we're seeing signs it already has.
I even think the attacks of 911 were somewhat a result of the conflict going on over there. 911 was a replication of the type of terrorist warfare that happens routinely in the Middle East. The fact that the US is funding Israel in terms of weapons and is unilaterally supporting Israel is fuel for fire and reason for Arab terrorist entities to rebel against our gov't and our people.
We would be lucky to reach the year 2040 without having nearly the exact form of terrorist warfare occuring on our own soil - meaning "ordinary people" performing suicidal bombings on foot and with vehicles, not just in the name of "Allah" either, but in the name of freeing the Palestinians from occupation and ghettoization. In fact, someone may recall Bin Ladin bringing up Palestine as one cause of the Jihad (stated in one of his twisted speeches). And predictably an Arab leader threatened to blow Israel off the map. For this and several other reasons ...
Unfortunately my vote is yes.

I think that it could be. The deciding factor would be how much the United States supports Israel in this new offensive. We all know how close of a relationship the United States and Israel has. For the past 50 years the United States has not overtly supported any of Israel's military actions. By this I mean, the US has not put soldiers on the ground or struck against any of Israel's enemies. Well except of Iraq.
Anyways, seeing now that Hezbollah has become involved, Syria and Iran could be in Israel's crosshairs. Seeing that Israel is already concerned about Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions, and in the past has not been affraid of acting against a Muslim nation with nuclear weapons ambitions e.g. Iraq, Iran can now consider itself most likely the first or second target in any further Israeli action. The Israeli government has a lot of thinking to do.
Before they take action, however, Israels needs to see where the United States stands on this issue. Considering the fact that they recieve an incredible amount of money and weapons from the United States, they should discuss any further escalation with President Bush. If the United States supports a war against Hezbollah and its allies, then I fear that we will see the opening shots of World War III.
I would say that there is no chance of this happening, but recent events prove otherwise. President Bush, in many cases has cited Iran and Syria as supporters of terrorism. It would not surprise me if he justifies any Israeli actions against Iran and Syria as a way of continuing the war on terrorism and bringing the war to the terrorists instead of to American streets. And anyone who is against this would be in a "pre-9/11" state of mind. I hate that term.
If Israel does attack Iran or Syria and the United States supported it there would definitely be some negative reactions from the international community. Europe, except for the Eastern European nations would be staunchly against these actions. Many if not all Middle Eastern countries will condemn the attacks and possibly take action. Lastly, but most importantly China and Russia who are allies with Iran could be very unpredictable. Those two countries would present a powerful front against any combination of countries, not to mention just maybe the United States and Israel. Military forces will probably be mobilized and any false move could result in war.
The one thing that could prevent this from happening is of course the nuclear option. Seeing that most of the major players in this have nuclear weapons, hopefully they will come to their senses.

Israel is NOT the cause. the tiny nation of Israel just wants to live in peace yet is constantly bombarded by Muslims wanting to take over Gods country. Watch my lips.... THEY NEVER WILL!
God gave the land if Israel to the Jews and they live there, that is fact. They will continue to live there. Biblical prophecy was fulfilled in May 1948 when Israel became a nation again.
if God gave Israel to the Jews, there ain't NO-ONE going to take her from them.
God has said that He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those who curse her. Seems all the Muslim nations are pretty cursed to me.

They are. They just bombed Gaza City, the Palestinian captial. Syria, Iran, and Jordan will be angered by this and they will attack Israel. The U.S. will decide to butt in, because they are strong supporters of Israel and big haters of Iran. England will help us, as with the rest of NATO. This will lead to a huge conflict.

I believe there is actually several factors involved (like the American civil war is said to be over slavery yet Abe Lincoln had slaves while in office)
