First of all, this is a very specious question. How could a four year old child kill its parents, or even one parent, unless it was by accident?
You changed from the first question 'killed its parents' to the addenda, 'or its parent' so it's now unclear whether the child killed one or two parents.
If the child killed a parent, and that parent was a royal, it would depend on the sex of the slain parent and the sex of the child, and their relationship to the monarch, and whether we are talking about an only child.
So -- for the sake of debate, we will say the child is a boy, and either the oldest boy or the only boy in the family.
If the child, a son, killed his father, he would take his father's place on the succession chart. If the child killed his mother, it wouldn't make any difference, because the mother would never have been in line for the throne.
You really need to rethink this, though, as there are far too many loose ends in your question.

How could a 4 year old child kill its parents? Wouldn't they be a lot bigger and stronger than a 4 year old?
