Hey, The Serpentine belts win hands down.

Easy to change, Self adjusting, no maintenance. The only way to go.

I Change a serpentine at 40,000 miles, put the old one in with the spare tire.
If for some reason (never happened) I break or lose a belt, open the trunk, 10 minutes even in the dark and I'm going again.

V-belts, It will always be the rear belt that breaks.
You have to remove all of the belts in front of that belt to replace the rear one.
Then re-install and tension them all correctly.
V-Belts require adjustments regularly and don't last as long.

Go Serpentine and don't look back.

There is a reason they don't make em like they used to.

that is an ongoing pro and con, the serpentine system is a whole bunch easier to work on and easier to replace and they last allot longer then traditional vbelts but then again when the belt does brake or come off you lose everything at once ,with v belts you can lose a belt and you may just lose your power steering or just an alt but you could still get where your going if you had to but make no mistake on both of them if you lose the water pump you are done!

There is really no contest. The serpentine drive belts are quieter, more reliable, and self-adjusting (because of the spring-loaded tensioner).
