you might be eligible for intermittent fmla. i believe that you are allowed a year of time off unpaid for fmla so if you are only planning on 6-8 weeks for leave you may be able to manage some extra time. talk to you HR department for more details. when i worked at a callcenter people did that all the time for high risk pregnancys and other disabilities.

Double check with your local EEOC, but it sounds like it could be either sexual or disability harassment.

When I was pregnant with my youngest, I was given a promotion and pay raise and I thought that ________ was fabulous! When he was born, there were a lot of complications and I had to take the full two months to recuperate, but I still came in to get paperwork done (sometimes I even took it home with me, if needed). Every time I came in, the manager would ask when I was coming back full time and each time I would remind him that I was still under doctor's care and I would be back when I was released.

Eventually, I was demoted and then, four months after I returned and was reinstated to my former position, I was fired due to "scheduling problems". The main advantage to the position I had was that I made my own schedule so to use this as a reason to fire me was completely bogus.

Good luck and don't worry. You need to concentrate on doing what's best for you and that baby.

Unfortunately, above and beyond your regular sick leave, vacation days, and maternity leave there are no laws requiring an employer to give you extra days off.

However, if you are having problems, consider taking your maternity leave early. I'm not sure how long maternity leave has to be, but I think six to eight weeks is the standard, and you are legally able to take up to six months unpaid. I would check with your employer to see how much of this is unpaid and whether they would be OK with giving you some extra time off before the baby arrives.

Congratulations and Good luck!

absolutely!!! check out EDD in your state. in california, pregnancy is legally considered a disability and should be treated as such. Contact your Human Resource department about possibly cutting your hours in leiu of having days off. You (in california anyway) are entitled to 4 months or 120 days of disability leave without pay. these days can be used unconsecutively throughout your pregnancy as needed. Trust me, i know that feeling. I couldn't believe i tried working until the baby was born. by the 8th month i was ready to kill all of my bosses. You need your rest!
