The other neighbor is right. The father should take care of
all his children. In the first place the children shouldn't been
allowed to go out and play in the yard anywhere near the
pit bull.

The neighbor that says the father should take care of all of his children. He should have prepared for the fact that some of his children would be interested in the dog, and that some children need to learn by doing rather than being told not to do something.

I guess it depends on several factors. If the father put the pit bull in the back yard he is to blame for whatever happens to his children. If the father knew the pit bull was in the yard and did nothing to remove the threat, he's still to blame.
From your parable, it's obvious the father knew about the pit bull, did nothing to remove the threat, and encouraged his children to stay in a dangerous environment.

You are the father, you should TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR CHILDREN!!! I have friends who have kids and I have stayed with them for weeks at a time to help out- friend got in a terrible car accident- Yeah, there were sometimes where I felt like the dad in this story, but I never followed up with my thoughts. They are your blood, you are thier protectors whether or not the kids are obidient or not. They will remeber this situation all thier lifes cus is will be a 'tramatizing experience' for them, and they would rebel on him for the rest of their lives.

Well of course if it's something like being attacked and injured, and how old the children are then the second neighbor is right.
If the children weren't something like 4-5 and it was like....they got poision ivy or dirty or something than the first neighbor is correct.

The other neighbor who said he should care for all of his children. Anyone who has kids know that the kids rarely listen. They're curious by nature (especially the younger ones).

The "other" neighbor is right. They're his kids and he should protect them. Protecting them also includes understanding that kids will be kids and won't always follow directions. He must keep them away from that dog, not just give a verbal warning.

Nobody whould let children play where there is a vicious dog.
I having a growing serious dislike of pit-bulls. I suspect these adults have more than one screw loose. Call DSS! or the cops!!!!
