An excellent idea. They could be turned in loofahs for scratching your back, which is what nails were meant to do in the first place but can never reach.

I have collected wheel barrows full of my clippings. I have enough to put together a bocce court, instead of using crushed oyster shells. The finger and toenail clippings are a nice touch. It makes a great surface to throw the ball down the court.

ohhhh thats yuk...you could always save them up and make a little crazy paved pic with it and paint all the different nail clippings different colours. or if not...file it under B (bin em)
