If you didn't know, the media has played a integral part on the process of war, not only today, but in the past also. William Randoph Hearts and his newpaper helped fuel, and eventually caused the Spanish American War. He ran 8 pages a day about the "Spanish Cannibalism", "Inhuman Torture" (neither of which were true), and even blamed the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine on the Spanish. (Even though a naval investigation concluded that the source of the destruction was unknown).

This is also a lot like the media fueling of the Muhammod cartoons by the Dutch newspaper. It wasn't until the media spun it, that the muslim community took to it.

Why do I have the feeling the media is going to cause something big in the near future? (Prime example ... Kim Jong Il's favorite television channel is CNN. Do you really think he isn't listening to everything that's being said about him?) Am I alone in having this feeling? What do you think?

The Media is doing us a lot of Harm.. WWII example the press was embedded with the troops just like now but was not allowed to report until after a mission was over by about two weeks .. can you imagine what would have happened on D-Day when we invaded Normandy ? If they were allowed to report like they do now .. Man we would have been whipped out .. The Media is making news be cause of these 24 hr a day news cast, they can't get enough news to fill them ... Have you noticed them brake away from their regular show to show a car wreck on interstate 95 or something like that ...It's garbage reporting... and just about all the anchor people and news papers are biased toward their political affiliations... Even our collage good fellows are biased ..I just wonder what hate these collages are spewing to our children... who knows why they do it ?

This is a fantastic question! Yes the media can fan the flames or be a balm on the wound in war times. He who pays the piper calls the tune. So in fact the sponsors are more culpable the "the media"! I do believe the media, is the Anti-Christ! May God bless you and of course eat more peanut butter!
Do not support stations that do not support your views! Always write the FCC with your concerns!

The news media is running rampant with no checks. It is getting way out there in the name of free speech. There was a name for that "Yellow Journalism". Used to be illegal. Yes the media begins and ends wars and presidencies. They use their daily sway so people see things their way. Should go back to "Just the facts please". Of course they wouldn't receive their millions of dollar salaries and news agencies would be honest in their reporting.

1. Yes, I did know that.
2. No, you're not alone.
3. Yes, but there's little we can do about without jeapordizing freedom of speech and information. So, either the media has nearly total power of sway over people and governments or... none at all.
