If you didn't know, the media has played a integral part on the process of war, not only today, but in the past also. William Randoph Hearts and his newpaper helped fuel, and eventually caused the Spanish American War. He ran 8 pages a day about the "Spanish Cannibalism", "Inhuman Torture" (neither of which were true), and even blamed the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine on the Spanish. (Even though a naval investigation concluded that the source of the destruction was unknown).
This is also a lot like the media fueling of the Muhammod cartoons by the Dutch newspaper. It wasn't until the media spun it, that the muslim community took to it.
Why do I have the feeling the media is going to cause something big in the near future? (Prime example ... Kim Jong Il's favorite television channel is CNN. Do you really think he isn't listening to everything that's being said about him?) Am I alone in having this feeling? What do you think?
