Here at Yahoo answers, people post questions, in hopes of finding good and honest answers. If you're answer is voted the best, you are awarded with 10 points. Do you think that Yahoo answers, should have it to where it's -10 points, for the worst answer, given the person is being sarcastic and rude on purpose? A person could be having a bad day and it would'nt help matters, if they post a question, looking for polite, but honest answers, only to find answers that are unnecessarily cruel and mean in origin. Maybe it could help cut down on the flat out rudeness, of comments posted here, that are not appreciated. Don't get me wrong, you have the right to give your opinion, but that does'nt give you the right, to insult people, by calling them names, for all to read, just because you did'nt like their question, if you don't like the question, skip it. I hurt a persons feelings, without realizing it, I told them I was sorry and I deleted my answer because I was wrong.

If someone is rude to the point of being insulting,he can be reported for abuse. Otherwise, who cares? No matter what,
there are always going to be rude people on this website.

I agree with you..but as long as there is immaturity..they will be immature answers. People dont need to be rude, but they do. I do think we should deduct 10 pts for rude answers....but then would it really help. The people that get suspended from here just create another account and do the same thing over again...Its a very good thought though. I admit I have done it before..I ususally just type the first thing off the top of my head lol but it doesnt make it right!!

I think that on the surface it's a great idea, but the problem is with dishonest people. Someone posts a question on how they should skin their dog. You respond by saying that it is sick. He subtracts 10 points from your total. Or, someone lays into your favorite celebrity or politician by posting lies. You respond to try and set the record straight. You lose ten points. Personally, I recently responded to someone pretending to be a teacher but her spelling and grammar were atrocious. I called her on it and she sent me a nasty e-mail. I would have lost 10 points. Another person harassed me for disagreeing about how much wedding rings should cost. I would have lost 10 points on that, too. Could I have been nicer, yes. But there was no way I should have lost points over it.
Losing points will create a fear of answering questions.

I say that's a thought. Would be nice to reduce people's points for insults and useless posts, but then again the person that chooses the worst answer may purposely reduce other people's point because they might be jealous of the other person's excess wit.

You're forgetting that little thing called "free speech". People on Yahoo Answers post inane things that they know no one will answer with any integrity. When they do, they deserve whatever they get in terms of insults and ridicule.
Being able to say what I want to whomever I want IS my right. If you don't like it then that's fine, give rebuttal and discuss, but don't tell me what my rights are. The founding fathers did that 230 years ago.

Hey its really god idea. I think you should write about this to yahoo. Nice question. yes we should have option for choosing worst answer too. that keeps some rude people being rude here.
I read some of answers below, yes some of them are true. if you choose someones answer as worst then that person purposely might choose your answer as worst.

you're top about the body - your mind starts to rot, turns to liquid, and so on. yet your suggestions (psyche, soul, spirit, and so on.) or personality isn't your mind on my own, in spite of the indisputable fact that the mind is a significant area of you. with out it you is purely no longer waiting to precise your personality bodily to others who regularly artwork together with you bodily (I shall no longer contact on the non-actual interactions). see you later as we are "contained in the body", we decide our mind to precise ourselves, purely because the pc needs the CPU to operate. yet even as it truly is operating, this methodology is better than the CPU and application (0s & 1s). once both are presented together by technique of the programmer and customers, some thing starts to exist previous the pc and the application (saved on records) on their personal. it truly is an analogy, yet with somewhat of success you get my pick the flow. subsequently, we are regularly conscious of an "I" which could no longer purely my mind or suggestions. and that i'm conscious of the "thous" that are my kin, acquaintances, and so on. There are not from now on purely brains en-fleshed. they're actual personalities. it truly is this "I-thou" that persist after demise, Your reality "there is no info of any spirituality in any respect, when we die, there is no longer some thing, we do not be conscious the transition" is a concept and may under no circumstances be shown scientifically because technological information will under no circumstances settle for any "info" which could no longer repeatable and only depending on the memories of human beings. yet a lot of human beings have had after-demise memories. the answer on your question is one which each and each and every one individuals will locate out faster or later. there is no fending off it. The better significant question is that if there is an existence after demise, what's it like, and what can we do to better practice for it?

I think this is a stupid idea. If you only want certain types of answers, you should not bother asking.
You CANNOT regulate everything or legislate your own morals onto others. So buzz off!
