I am from a small place called Sechelt, located on the Sunshine Coast and a ferry ride a 40 minute ferry ride away from Vancouver. This is a peninsula bordered by the Pacific Ocean, numerous islands, hundreds of fjords or narrow passage ways to larger bodies of water. It is a kayakers paradise, the swimming is good, fishing spotty to good mainly salmon and there is an abundance of wildlife.
We have elementary and high school, a hockey rink, two swimming pools ,the third one just being approved for construction. We have ample shopping, dining, coffee bars, pubs and other public buildings like a library etc. There are mountain trails for back packing, biking, hiking and there is one small ski hill being developed which could turn into a major cross country place if the money was available. It is a good place to live, quite expensive as a lot of people like to move here due to its weather, its proximity to Vancouver and the laid back style of its population. Come and visit soon.

Wilmington, Delawhere? Delaware in case you didn't get that. Not a whole lot to do other then great beaches in Southern DE (they're cleaner then NJ beaches) tax free shopping and you're right outside of Philadelphia and a few college towns with some great bars and resturants. It's quiet, small, but it is in the middle of everything.

Its nice and the water is cooler.

I'm in Calgary, and right now, there is the Calgary Stampede going on. Its a large rodeo-like festival with all the midway rides and sideshows of most fairs, but with a roedo slant .Bronc riding, bull riding and roping, chuch wagon racing. and many famous evening musical entertainers. The rest of the year, we have the orchestra, and theatre, and bars, skating, swimming. Everything you find in any metropolitan area except the ballet . :-(

Los Angeles, where I work in the entertainment industry on certain effects in the movies, like getting everything to have an accurate odor to its time period. Or coming up with just the right smell for a burnt corpse.
