Lets see silly inventions, Velcro, computers made smaller until people could get them at home. Things about radiation, the ability to make computer chips, microcircuits, all this came from the space program. Much more believe me many lives have been saved or bettered by the space program and going to the moon. Yes we need to continue to see even a further benefit from it, but we will or die.

The technology that was developed for the moon landings is now in just about everything you use, including the computer you typed your question on. Plus, the government paid big bucks to develop technology that the private sector could never have afforded to develop for commercial use at the time, thus making technology cheaper and bringing it to us quicker.

Space travel is a good way to try out technology that later finds its way into our daily lives, like tang....or the way a corvette has the latest tech that finds its way onto regular chevy cars 10 years later...
apart from that, with no limits that can be found to the universe, aren't you at all curious about what is out there?

Going to the moon helps us understand the universe better, we as a species are learning how the moon came to be and how the Earth came to exist as well.
We wouldn't have gone without a reason. ;)

It didn't really, but there is some spin off technology that did. Mainly it was just a waste of money for prestige reasons.
