Why aren't politicians and world leaders addressing population control?

Question

Population control would alleviate many concerns about food shortages, wars over water, cutting the rain forests, oil consumption, global warming, pollution, etc. Isn't it time we found ways to encourage birth control?

Actually the country with the most population, China, is trying to limit their population by mandating only 1 or 2 children per family.
They are having problems with that.
Also, a lot of other countries are somewhat limiting the population by allowing abortions.
But, think how you would react if your government told you that you could only have one child.

40,000 children starve to death everyday, our seas are dying from our waste, arable land is disappearing at 2% per year,finite resources (like oil) will soon run out and people have the stupidity to say the world has room for more people. Why won't our leaders address the problem? Religion is the biggest obstacle, as long as they are continuing to try to out breed each other, nothing will be accomplished. No politician has the cajones to tackle religion.

5 deaths at a roadway intersection = 1 traffic light, but, not till then.
The old human dilemma - We have the knowledge to do something right,
but for some primitive and strange reason - be it greed, religion, laziness,
criminality , stupidity, Etc.... , we fail to do what is moral and just for mother
Earth. All of humanity is dangling from a cotton thread. Sorry if this depresses
anyone.

I wish your parents would have used you for an example of population control. How would you feel. Oh that's right, your precious life, no matter how screwy your ideas, would have been snuffed out or not even begun. It starts there and ends with stuff like euthanasia and people deciding who lives and who doesn't "deserve" to live.

America will not do that because of the "freedom" thing but anyways there are too many dumb asses out their who would protest about it. We need something to control the population, NOW!

IN SOME COUNTRIES THEY DO MONITOR POPULATION CONTROL. IN THE USA THERE ARE TOO MANY MORAL ISSUES INVOLVED SO THEY DONT PRESS IT POLITICALLY

i think polititians are concerned with the access of corporations to short term profits, like they always have been.
