I also do not support free college for high school drop outs, when so many cannot get a better (higher) education BECAUSE they have a diploma!
I want to shut down 'entitlements'. this is a legacy from the great depression and it is sinking the ship!
WORK OR STARVE! Obviously, there are exceptions, but we should really be able to trim the welfare roles a good 85%. (race is not an issue, but it ALWAYS is made into an issue by dems!)
a permanent mandate that ALL corporations that import to the USA, must produce here, in the USA, 50% of all of their products sold here.
I would want to prohibit the export, to any country, any natural resource that we import (ie. oil, lumber)
if we have an abundance, then we do not need to import!
I propose import duties on natural resources and manufactured raw materials that we also make here to a level (tax + plus product cost) equalling domestic costs (steel, plastics , base components etc...)
this stops dumping, an unfair trade practice
opinions?

I would not mind foreign owned factories producing their products from 100% foreign parts and components, but What I do NOT want to continue is the take, take, take from us and no give or support!
Balance of trade is needed so that we are are neither oppressing othere economies nor being oppressed
TO EARLY in curtailing entitlements? 75 years is too early? that is 4 complete generations of people growing up and being indoctrinated to leach instead of learning to support themselves!
Sorry, but I have no qualms in telling you that you are DEAD WRONG on that one!
when a store can pay 75% less for imported goods (ususally, but not always of lesser quality) you do not see the same level of savings.
Inflation would not rise as a reaction, on the contrary, american industry would benefit in both orders and increase need for manpower!
foreign assembly plants would bring work also.

bikerpjb, you should look at brazil. they have a much tighter system than I propose and it is very good for them
realistic human
you misunderstand both the reason and the effects of the minimum wage.
the reasons are socialist and promise to help out the lower paid of the country, they do not work! they never have qand never will!
they raise prices of everything, and the gap between the minimum wage earner and his spending power remains constant at best. the rest of the economic classes do NOT receive raises to help adjust for the overall increase of products that the freemarket system brings, and therefore, the rest of the country gets economically weaker (with the exception of the business owners, who make more by charging EVERYONE more and only paying more to min wagers)
the job market should drive wages. if everyone refuses to work for peanuts, the business either pays more or goes under, as it should be!

You say work or starve??? What about Work AND Starve... this is what we have now- 2 parents working two jobs each and not being able to pay the exorbitant bills for fuel, insurance, interest rates, when you work a full 40 hours per week and you cant afford to survive, then it's a problem... If we raise the minimum wage to $12 per hour (which is what it would take to fix the problem) then cost of American made goods would go up even higher thereby placing imported goods at an even greater premium... What we need is an administration that's not afraid to stand up to the insurance industry, the credit card industry, the fuel companies, the medical industry, etc... to bring the cost of living for the middle class under control- then middle class workers wont need to work 2 or 3 jobs that would normally go to the lower class who are the ones collecting unemployment...

This will NEVER happen under an administration like the one we have now... EVERYONE MUST VOTE REPUBLICANS OUT OF OFFICE!!! ASAP!!! OR ELSE!!!

I like your education ideas, a lot. Also your welfare reform ideas, I agree 100%.
As for your "made in the USA" law, it sounds good in theory but would ultimately drive prices up. A new laptop computer made entirely of US-made components would be 2 or three times the cost of one now. America should focus less on manufacturing jobs and more on higher tech jobs.

As for import/export laws, I kind of agree. I guess the exception would be when we can sell American products for a decent profit and buy foreign ones MUCH cheaper. I know this happens in real life, I just don't have any examples.

In other words, the principles of free trade and capitalism should only apply to domestic trade and not to the world?

And, by the way, have you any idea how the cost of living will go up for the average person if imports are as severly cut back as you propose???

I'm certainly not an economics expert, but even I can see that your proposals are entirely too extreme!

Free college for all that qualify academically regardless of diplomas. The heavy taxation of corporate goods manufactured by American companies that outsource to the lowest bidder and import products here. As to entitlements, it is probably too early to modify them, we severely disenfranchised certain groups for many years and they have not yet recovered.

I'm pretty sure America would be a third world country with the poor dying in the streets... about 3 years into your term...

you have the wisdom of a dictator of an African country....

I agree with prohibiting exports..
Don't agree with most of the rest though.
I'd rather pay the extra taxes than have 10x the poor asking me for money. There's already too many of them...
