It sounds like panic attacks, but have you had an EKG just to be sure everything is ok?
Panic attacks and their effects can last for several days if severe enough. Are you also very tired?
I think you should take up Yoga. Its the best thing for relaxation. They teach you breathing techniques that can help you eliminate these panic attacks.

Anxiety is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you and you don't even know it. You may be having a good time, but something else that is not in the fore-thoughts of your mind may be bothering you. Anxiety attacks will not damage your heart or your lungs. If you are concerned about it, talk to a therapist and/or a psychiatrist. A therapist can help you handle the anxiety when you feel it, and a psychiatrist can prescribe you something for when you have an anxiety attack or something to take on a daily basis too control them.
Luckily, I have never felt anything in my chest when I had high anxiety. Instead, I cried all the time.

sounds like panic attacks, but I would recommend getting a second opinion if that is an option for you. some drs just wont take the time with their patients and will insist that it is all in your head. I personally have anxiety and I have never felt like my chest was tight or that I simply couldnt breathe. It may have something to do with the anxiety, but I would still recommend seeing another dr if you can. good luck!

I have this exact same problem. I've been tested by a specialist and the hospital, both of which gave me the same result-- nothing is physically wrong.
I attribute it to anxiety, guilt, and other such emotional problems. Anxiety attacks are very odd things and are hard to explain, but they're very powerful. Just try to relax and do something you enjoy when you feel this way and eliminate things from your life (if you can) that cause you to feel this unneeded stress.
Good luck!

Sounds like anxiety to me. I've had trouble breathing several times. My advice is to lie down, relax, and breathe normally for a little bit. That should work.

As a medical professional, my advice to you would be to suggest to your family doctor that you'd like for him to make a referral to a pulmonologist "just to check to make sure everything's fine with your lungs". And please be nice about it
