Credit cards are useful to some degree, like booking a hotel or renting a car, but only if you spend what you can pay off each month. If you carry over a balance credit cards are bad because they charge up to 30% interest. That is outrageous

Yes. Credit cards are not true indicators of one's credit worthiness, and all they do is cause people to spend money they don't have.

I no longer have credit cards. I use my debit card for all the same purposes, and it works just fine. When I don't have any more cash, that's it .. I'm done spending. And the good thing is, I don't have to pay any interest or anything like that.

Financially, we're doing much better since we paid off the credit cards and got rid of them. We can't overspend now and are forced to live within our means. Actually, we've even been able to save some!

BTW - to anyone who thinks you can't rent a car or book a hotel room without one - that's not true. I just use my debit/credit (check) card.

Credit cards are good if used for what it is meant. Treat it like money in your pocket and you won't have problems.

Yes. Much better off. How much are you paying in interest a month? A year? It adds up pretty quick.

Yes definitely. Unfortunately, you can't even rent a darn car without one. When I have them, I just end up buying something I can't afford.
