Because the media makes it's living off of bad news. And the liberal media (& that's most of the media) jumps on any excuse to make a republican look bad (not that the Republicans don't hand them excuses on a silver platter sometimes)
I'm looking for sites to prove or disprove the idea that the growth only took place among the wealthy. Can anybody provide such sites?

because if you look at the stats... the majority of that has gone to the wealthy and the majority of people are not wealthy...
in other words people keep saying that the economy is great and showing off the numbers... but the majority of people aren't seeing any difference in their everyday life... if anything, it's gotten worse for many
and as a side note... you know what's funny... I think the debt has grown by about that much in the same period of time... so is it really growth?

Sometimes people will talk bad about things just because they dont like the person presenting them. The truth is the economy has grown since 2004, but people are searching for any reason to say they dont like George Walker and they like to sound like they know what theyre talking about.

Because the growth in dollars doesn;t translate into growth in jobs. The economic growth is the result of increased profits and Revenues reported, which are are the result of moving operations offshore or new tax breaks.
If all this were used to create new jobs (not low paying manufacturing jobs, but higher paying jobs), you would not have college graduates working at Chili's...a friend of mine has a Masters degree in Computer Science and can't find a job anywhere!

The economy has only grown for the segment of the population that boasts about it. The wealthy.

Possibly because a significant number have not felt the positive effect(s) of this tremendous growth as related to their every day lives in which they live with the expanding cost of living that far outpaces their increases in income.

i personally feel like its harder to get a job now then it was before the whole go-into-iraq-only-for-oil-to-get-bush-money-thing.. and im sure that the rate of unemployment has gone up too.. (thats how it seems to me atleast) and the thing is.. if it did grow.. how much did it go down before it grew.. its like a pair of pants are 50 bucks.. they sell 'em for 70 and put a sale on 'em so that they're like 50 bucks.. its still the same but OHH A SALE! (ohh it grew) uh.. for sure :D lol peace
