He is a star and has a BIIIIG head
he told Materazzi who is a good player but not as much of a star as him "if you want my shirt I give it to you after the game" like if he was talking to a kid or a fan... While instead the whole Italian defense did a great job containing his game and Materazzi played a fantastic match.
When Materazzi got angry and insulted him Zidane aggressed him physically - according to an article on yahoo later Materazzi even said that ithe whole story was a pity because he always "admired Zidane"-
The French just don't want to admit the fact they lost and are trying to have Materazzi, victim of an aggression, investigated.
Pathetic!
I won't miss Zidane - I saw all the interviewed he gave today on the french channels - A player cannot accept to speak about something like that and not apologize after an aggression like that - If he is not ready to apologize to his victim yet, one can understand, after all the stress he is right now, but then he shouldn't give an interview -

Amazing player. Even though he rammed his head into Materazzi's chest during the final, I don't think teh criticism towards that move is very valid because Materazzi was insulting Zizou's mother, who was very ill and in the hospital, and he kept insulting her. What was Zidane supposed to do, really? Just swallow his pride and continue playing? That would have been amazing, but it didn't happen, and what Zidane did was justified in my opinion.
One las point I'd like to make is that he's a human being, just like the rest of us, so we shouldn't expect him to keep his cool in a situation where we probably wouldn't be able to that as well.

I think he is awesome and cool and a great player and captain. He does SO much for his team, when any of the players on the french team got hurt, he would always come to see and check on how they were doing. I hate that he head-butted the other dude though, it was the italian players fault...whatever he said. But, i guess whoever started it, it is actually their fault. I liked Zidane better as a player, but Italy better as a team.

Well I THOUGHT he was a good player. For me a good player possess skill and fairplay. I am not at all happy with Zidane's answer. It's like he's telling the kids ...it's okay if you're really mad to do what I did. Bascially he apologized for his actions...but doesn't regret it. For me he's not sorry! I still think it's a SHAME.
Whatever Materazzi said...you don't do what he DID!

he is a Unrivaled player . i am very sad he retired . he goes as a hero . materatzi deserved the head and he recieved it .
i don't like italian football. they play dirty . their football is wrapted in bibery , MAFIA and Racism ( just see Juventus Scandal ) . honor is no meaning for them .
france is better than italy in the final game .
i'm not a french .
i wanted the better team won .( but italy was not the better team ).
when someone insult others, he must expect to head butted . it is normal . words have powers .
italians can boasted about their winning but all know that they are just jealous because they have won wc 3 time before but they hadn't a player such as Zidane . quality is not in the quantity .
all the maldini , baresi , canavaro, del piero and .... can not equal to Zidan . maybe just Maradona can . ( the another player italian attempt to raze but they couldn't )

Amazing player. But even though he was provoked, there is no excuse for his actions. He needed to just let it go.
