In order to answer the question as to how the Atlanta Falcons will do, we have to look at the division they're in...NFC-South.
The Carolina Panthers should be favored to win the NFC-South...
With Keyshaun Johnson and five other veteran players from the free agent market and arguably one of the better college ballplayers, DeAngelo Williams (first round draft pick), the Carolina Panthers could go all the way to the Superbowl. In last season's NFC title game, fourth stringer Jamal Robertson came in due to injuries. No team could give up that amount of talent to injuries and come in with a fourth stringer and expect to win in the playoffs.
The New Orleans Saints look tough...
With the opening game against the Atlanta Falcons, the New Orleans comes in with a new head coach, Sean Payton. and a pro bowl quarterback Drew Brees and the highly rated Heisman Trophy Winner Reggie Bush. it should prove to be quite a backfield. Pick one...Reggis Bush or Deuce McAllister.
The fight for the NFC-South should be between the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints and the fight to stay out of the celler should be between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I fully realize the intent and significance of pre-season games, but on August 11, the game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots may afford Atlanta fans a clue as to how the season will go for the team...
My prediction for the order of finish in the NFC-South is...
Carolina Panthers
New Orleans Saints
Atlanta Falcons
Tampa Bay Bucanneers.

They should be a little improved but will miss the play offs again. Carolina is going to win the division and both wild cards might come out of the east. If not then Tampa Bay. The Falcons really need to make a decision about Michael Vick. This guy is not equipped to lead a west coast offense like Mora Jr is trying to accomplish. Matt Schaub is the better of the two and is their only chance at post season success this year. Im guessing 8-8

I'd be amazed if they did better than 9-7...the rest of the NFC South improved so much this off season and Atlanta...well they just didn't really do much...They got a few good players...but considering the season they had last year...they are going to need more than just some players, they'll need Vick to pull through like he did in 2004...but I don't know if he will.
They'll be 3rd or 4th in the division is my guess...that is if Tampa can have a repeat performance and New Orleans stay's healthy...Atlanta is going to need some luck I think...Carolina, right now, is the favorite to win it, and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't considering they were tied for it last year and improved...but who knows...that was last year...We'll see how things turn out when the season starts...
Good luck...but GO CAROLINA!!!

The Falcons will be fortunate to make the playoffs this season. They are only the 3rd best team in the NFC South Division behind Carolina (who is not only the cream of the crop in the division but maybe in the NFC period), I'd rate Tampa slightly better better because of their defense, but it's close. I'd say 9-7 or 8-8, but not much more than that.

The Atlanta Falcons are going 2 be great this year. With DVD ( Dunn Vick Duckett) how can you doubt them. They miss the playoffs last year but this year they are going to the playoffs. They have improved on there defense and their quarterback has improved alot.

6-10 or 7-9.... Vick cannot pass, he had one good game and the sportswriters are all over him saying he throws better that Peyton. Vick is a running back that can't get tackled. He cannot run a west coast offense like Mora wants to run. Neither of their RBs is anything special, and their receiving corps sucks (worst in the league), their only offense comes from Crumpler.

They are due for 9-7 if their defense holds up and a playoff spot.

if they follow their trend they should surprise some people this year, i think they are one of the few teams that's never had back to back winning seasons. 10-6
