Sorry.........I didn't hear the interview but from what I've heard it wasn't very impressive..........I'm not an admirer of Materazzi and don't agree with throwing insults........but I agree even less with someone choosing violence to settle a dispute.........he could of warned the Ref and had him in turn warn Materazzi.......he choose to settle it like he's done in the past on 2 bad occasions.....once by stomping on a Saudi's leg and another time head-butting an opponet.........may I also mention that he did not state exactly what was said...only that it had something to do with his mom and sister..........and from what I'm hearing they are getting french lawyers involved to stir up trouble......this proves once and for all that the French are with out a doubt the biggest bunch of sore losers on earth.........I'm sorry if my words are insulting........I'm quite sure many french are class people but I frown on them today........the game is over.............you lost.........accept it.............and move on!!!!!

The following is a translation from French to English, some of it could be translated more accurately but all the information is right. Anyway I think the Italian got what he deserved, and I think it would be very unfortunate if Zidane loses the Golden Ball thing over the all thing.
Zidane said: "(Materazzi) grabbed my shirt and ... I said to a stop, to stop pulling my shirt and I said to him, 'If you want, we'll change it at the end of the match'.
"He said, he said some words that were very difficult and words he repeated many times, which is sometimes more difficult to accept than just gestures.
"It was something that happens very quickly."
Zidane refused to repeat the insults but said: "The words were very serious. The things that are very personal.
"It mentioned my mother and my sister, very hard words. You hear them once, you hear them twice and the third time.
"I'm a man first and foremost. There are words I would have preferred to have received a punch than hear what I heard."
Can I get best answer please, I could be doing with the points!

i'd watched it , but i dont know france , i read it in internet news
hey Farzad, what r u saying? shame on Italy??? Materazzi denied it... he lost her mum when he was 15 . and he said he never called Zidane " a terrorist" . he said "my terrorist is my little doughter that dosnt let me sleep @ nights"!!!
anyway, anything that Materazzi said not really important, soccer players always says something like that . Zidane did like an Idiot ... before that game he did some jobs like that, beating some one with butthead!!! he was a suprstar but what he did was too unfair !
u should know everything that Zidane is now-a suerstar- made by Marcello Lippi , when he played for Lippi in Juventus ... without him Zidane wasnt Zizoun now , u cant say bullshit about Italy
Shame on your countrey so!!
FORZA AZZURRI
FORZA MATERAZZI
FORZA MARCELLO LIPPI
we r the champions now ... FARZAD!!
Hey JenJen what u said is not true , Zidane's mother was in hospital before the game , n' Materazzi" ddnt know about it" , he said. he dont hav mother n' never say something bad about person's mother!

Italian lipreaders said that MAterazzi said that Materazzi said he wishes a painful death to his family...and just that morning...Zidane had found out some tragic news about his mother. Italy had done this purposely and it was a very cheap move on behalf of Materazzi.

GET OVER IT PEOPLE!!! Do you think Zidane is the only player ever to get insulted?? It happens every day in many sports, the only reason he got so damn pissed off is probably because its true... why else would you cause such a comotion??

its true, materazzi said that he lost his mother when he was 14 and that a mother is sacred. im not really sure if he would insult a persons mother. anyways, words do not give people the right to physically assault someone. what a role model for those kids.

Nico, I agree with you. Bascially it's like telling the kids...it's okay if you're really really MAD about what insult was given to you...turn around and do what I did. WOW! SO KIDS if you're listening...Zidane said it's okay to use violence to solve problems as long as you're sorry but don't regret it!
YIKES!
