The speech should cover the following main points or ideas:
1-Death is an inevitable end to every living creature.
2-However, life must continue after the death of any person
(even those whom we greatly love or whom we largely
depend on).
3-The route to coping with the death of a beloved person or an
important person in our lives is:
a) Help yourself get out of the state of sadness as fast
as possible (or your grief will destroy your life).
b) Try to cope with your new life after you no longer
find that beloved person in your life. The best way
to do so is to work hard, get out and meet friends,
etc.
c) But from time to time, you should recall your
intimate memories and relics with that dead
person. This will not only refresh your life, but it will
also give you a motive to improve over time and to
imitate that person's good-doings.
4-And one should always remember that he himself (or she
herself) will eventually die one day, sooner or later, and
hence will meet his beloved ones who had moved to
eternity (or to the "other world") before one did. The best
thing you can do now to get prepared for that meeting
is to work hard from now so as to be in a good state when
you get engaged in that meeting.

I hope these ideas helped you. I am ready to help you also with the writing style. Just contact me via IM.

I've made quite a few speeches on this topic as i have lost several friends and family members. It isn't easy but here's what you do.

Write it down, best typed out with bullet points. Start by introducing yourself and your connection with the deceased. Tell them why you want to make a speech (ie Respect for the deceased, family member, friend etc).

Thank everyone for being there (shows how popular the subject was).

Explain what a good person he was and how well he was liked.

Tell a few humerous stories about him and say that's how you'd like to remember him.

Tell them things he told you/ shared with you/ ambitions he had/ acheivements and how you loved/liked/admired him.

Close by thanking them all again but reassure them that he is now at peace and in Heaven.

Here's what I said at my grand-daughter's funeral recently. She died 3 3/4 hours after birth.

Taylor Jade

One day a smile came out of Heaven and drifted slowly to Earth. That smile came from God as he created a beautiful baby who was to be given with love to Rebecca.

The baby was a tiny girl, a perfect little child. She was wonderful and gorgeous, an Angel in every way.

She came into our lives for such a short time but even in that short time she was so precious to us and loved so much, even though we didn’t have much time to get to know her.

She never had time to meet her family. She never saw most of them, only knowing the intense love that was given to her by those who were fortunate to be with her during her very brief stay with us before she was gently taken back to Heaven, where she will be in peace for all eternity.

One day we shall meet her again in the knowledge that God will look after her until we can be together with her for ever.

Meanwhile we give thanks that Taylor Jade didn’t suffer. She felt no pain and as she gently left us she was surrounded by that most precious of gifts. Her mother and father’s love and that of her family. What could be more fitting than she took back to Heaven a generous helping of that love to give to God in exchange for the very brief time that she spent with us

Tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em, tell them, tell them what you told them.

In other words, introduce the topic, cover the topic, summarize the topic.
