From K to 6 I was a dumb kid. I got terrible grades and had a 45
percentile on a standerdized test. But the night before I entered
middle school for 7th grade I was really determined to change all that. On the first day of school I was put in classes that are for average 7th grade students but every day after I came back from school I would study things beyond my grade level. And amazingly within 2 months of the school year I had a 4.0 grade average,
was put in honors classes and for a standerdized test I had
a 99 percentile so my math, reading, writing and science skills
were all college level. I got lots of certificates from the state and
by the end of the year I still have maintained a 4.0 GPA and
and my standerdized test score is 99.9 percentile and I have all honors classes and have made the most improvement the state has ever seen and now it is summer and I am going into 8th
grade. But even If I have made extra ordinary improvements
my actions in k to 6th ruined my future

A question for you - may we clone you? Teachers, that is. I'm a former teacher, but know for sure that any would LOVE to have you in their class. You have obviously applied yourself and succeeded in meeting your goals. NO WAY will K-6 damage your chances.
I used to work in higher education, and first, elementary grades were not part of the admissions process, and second, extraordinary effort and progress count for a lot. Think of scholarship opportunities that can come your way! And the discipline you have showed - you can apply that to any area of your life. I applaud you.
One thing I used to ask students with a semester of Fs (college admissions) was this (when they were remorseful)- Did you have fun? Yes, most would say. And are you going to do it again? No, most would say. And so you move on. Forgive yourself! You're a success story!

I would like to congratulate you and praise you for your efforts and your strong will. Don't let your past poor performance cause disappointment to you. Look at yourself now: you have outstandingly improved. You've become a different person, a much smarter and hard-working one. Throw your past results behind your back because it was God's will and because whatever regret you show, you'll never be able to change it. Just keep on working hard and it doesn't really matter whether or not you get enrolled to faculty. I am a faculty graduate and everyday I see that some of my non-graduate counterparts are getting much richer and even happier than I am. Just keep on working hard and I'm sure destiny will remunerate you at the end or mid-way.

No way,

First off you have to realize in the end grades really don't mean much of anything, but that is far off from where you are. Elementary school grades aren't going to matter. Having a good GPA in 8th is gonna be good for you. It will help you get in to good classes through high school.
My advice when you get to high school is take post secondary enrollment classes. They are free, save you time and money in college.

But don't sweat another second about elem school grades. You should be proud you brought your grades up.

That's ridiculous. No college application is going to ask about your elementary school record. Sounds like you're looking for an excuse not to make those monumental efforts - but it's worth it.

My experience has been that, with each level of education, you make the prior one moot. E.g., when you're trying to get into college, they want to know what you did in high school; when you're trying to get into grad school, they want your college transcript; and once you're out in the real world, if you play your cards right, no one cares what your grades were (but go to the very best college you can possibly get into, because for the rest of your life people will ask you where you went to school, but will not ask what your grades were).

I am a teacher, let me assure you, no one will go back and look at your K-6 records. For college, jobs, etc, the only grades they look at are your High School Grades. Keep working hard and you will be fine!!!! :)

Uhmmm, no because that was elementary school, and I don't think that when you try to apply to a university or a job that they would request you elementary school report card and history.... Just relax and keep up the good work, you're doing great.

Not at all. Congratulation and kudos to your determination and achievements!!! Keep it up!!! Your achievements are only steps to the next level.

Your middle school grades will get you placed into better classes for high school. And your good high school grades will get you placed into better colleges. And your good college grades will get you placed into better jobs. Etc.

The high school counselors like to place advanced students based on their middle school grades, into accelerated programs to better prepare them for college, which is what you want.

Start looking at the good high school programs in your area that you like to get into like the magnet or vanguard programs. Look at their Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Look for the school's extracurricular activities like band, sports, academic teams, etc. Colleges like to see well-rounded students with good grades.
