"I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille" . . . That's gotta be one of the best totally whack-job lines ever uttered in a movie . . . plus, the beginning is so creative . . . William Holden (so hot!) floating face down in the pool AND narrating the movie. Awesome!

Yes, I saw it resently, and enjoyed it greatly. Iwas a great film and will always be a classic. Full of real drama and a great upredicatable storyline, not like the movies of today.
Didn't Webber make that story into a Musical for the Stage? I would love to see that version as well.

I love Sunset Boulevard; not only is it Billy Wilder's greatest film, but it ranks among the most scathing satires of Hollywood and the cruel fickleness of movie fandom.

Lots of folks remember it, and rightly so. The WGA just ranked it the seventh best screenplay of all time (Written by Charles Brackett & Billy Wilder and D.M. Marshman, Jr.) and it's on several other "best" lists.

Yes. Wm. Holden, a big fave of mine, was also in it. Glenn Close starred in the Broadway version.
