but he has never been with a guy--not even kissed a guy. anyway, he told me that he has been thinking about a girl and wondering what it would be like to have sex with her. he is also a virgin. i told him that if he has been thinking about a girl and sex with a girl, then maybe he is confused about his sexuality. i just found out that i am "the girl". i am really freaked out about this b/c we are best friends and i have never thought about him in a romantic way. when we met about 10 years ago, he was straight and actually dated a lot of women. he "came out" about 3 yrs ago. i don't know what to do--he does not know that i know i am "the girl". what am i suposed to do? i dont want to loose my best friend.

I obviously don't know about this situation in particular, but I can tell you that quite often the best and most lasting relationships are born out of true and long time friendships. It's also "touchy" ground....if it goes "badly", it could really screw up a friendship.Tell him your concerns, but don't close off any possibilities you may regret later. You should both be on the same page on this for it to work. Giving it more time might be advisable, especially for you, since this is "new".

if you don't want to lose your best friend don't go out with him. If you do and you guys break up and it's bad your friendship will never be the same.
