It is for my son. He is 6 and the love of my life. We are Asian and he was born in the year of the dragon.

That's an awesome idea. I've never had a tattoo because I could never think of anything I'd want on my body FOREVER. Something that symbolizes your child is perfect though. It's not as though you'll ever stop loving him. :)

It sounds nice, there are so many ways you can put that together... like having the mother dragon standing above her nest where the baby is, having two symbols of unconditional love necklaces around their necks... or have the mother dragon nudge the baby affectionatly and have the necklace of the symbol next to the baby in the nest and have the baby wearing the same necklace but smaller... I want to be a tatoo artist someday... I always have good ideas, but sometimes they never get to go on paper.... Good luck, and its cute that you would do that for your son, take care

This is really your decision. Its your body and temple.
Don't do it for the boy ! Do it because you want to and because
you like it. The boy might grow up hating tattoo's. Like some of your answers here. I too, Do not like the tattoo's on girls.
The Dragon's do sound cool though.

Go for it ... just make sure you find the right spot on your body to put it. You want it in a spot where you can show your son the tattoo and make him giggle, and at the same time be able to cover it up for professional situations.

take the money and open him a savings account for his education or his pursuit of his dreams and goals....add the same amount every year until he is a man...Caring about his dreams and and helping him prepare for his future is a better tribute and deeper expression of your love than a tattoo.

Love tatoos and have some myself. That actually sounds very cool. But make sure you have an experienced artist to do the job.

Dragons mean different things in different cultures. If it means something to you and it is a cultural expression as well, then go for it.
Just be aware of all the other meanings as well.

I hate tattoos, they cant be washed away.They can also give a person Hepatitis C. after many yrs.I would ck with your doctor first.
