This is a timely question for me and answering this would be a balm for my soul as well.

Death is a certainty. You are born, may be poor, may become wealthy, but you will certainly die. So why do we mourn our dead? We mourn not our dead, but the vacuum of the love and presence and thoughts of that the person. So does that mean that person should never die?? No. But because we are very reluctant to let go of our feelings.

Change in inevitable. Change is as inevitable as Death.
Death and the afterlife is something we mortals will struggle to understand for as long as we live.

And now heres something I was told a few days back, My dads dying of Cancer and it breaks our hearts to let him go. But when there is a point of no return, all we need to do is pray for his peace. People who die will always look forward to Paradise and a life without sorrow and love without malice. That is what all of us need, what all of us would need to strive for. Understanding that that person has achieved this is important. Preparing that person for the 'Good Days' ahead will ease your pain.

Start loving again, and understand that God put you here for a reason and Death is just the Finish Line. How you reach that Finish Line is important. Live Righteously, Love as much as you can without malice and be at peace with everyone. All religions under the Sun teach us this in as many words.

It's not easy to get over a death. You have take it slow and I know it sounds trite but you have to take it one day at a time. The best thing to do is to remember that your loved one would want you to go on living and not die with them. Remind yourself to wake up, wash up. get dressed and carry on living. One day you won't have to remind yourself to do this. My brother was murdered almost 20 yrs ago and I still miss him but now I look back on my memories of him and i can smile and I don't feel guilty that I am still among the living. I believe what the bible says that Jesus will resurrect those we have lost in death John 5:28,29. My prayers will be with you. If you don't believe in the bible then I will still pray for you. Keep your head up.

I lost two very good friends of mine within a couple months of each other who were at the wrong places at the wrong time and were murdered. It's been almost a year now and I can tell you, it gets easier as the time goes by. Just keep in mind you are not alone and that they will forever be in our hearts. God be with you.

there's realy nothing you can do, except accept the things in life that you love. remember that they are in a good place now. just give it time. just don't try to forget them, then you would be putting yourself in denial. find a shoulder to lean on and never forget those memories
