Because we learn from it. Even when things seem to be going horribly wrong, the strength that keeps us going is one we draw from over and over again during our lives. Everyone has heard of the phrase 'what does not kill us makes us stronger' right? Well it's like that - whatever we go throught that we survive, we learn from.
Keep your chin up sweetie, things might seem tough now, but they're going to get better :o)

As opposed to what? Life may be difficult, but there's really only one option, which isn't really an option at all.

i think life is so hard because we either make it hard and others make it hard for us...I think we all want so much out of life we either **** it up or just strain harder to acheive it

Life is suffering, look into Buddhism. Let go of your desires and you can obtain happiness.

So that you can appreciate when it is not.
So that you can learn to adapt, grow, and thrive.
If life never offered obstacles you would have no reason to appreciate success or reason to strive for it.
