I know many people that I work with that constantly complain about the United States of America, and yet they don't move anywhere else. Anyone know why that is?

And if no one answers, I'm going to know that those people are a bunch of hypocrites.

That is what is great about the United States. We have the freedom to express our opinion even when we don't agree with anything. We don't have to worry about getting shot or thrown in jail for the rest of our lives.

I would like to point out that if the people who complained about America always left the following would be true of America.

Black people would still be slaves.
Your children would still be working on coal mines at 5 and 6 years old.
Women would still not be able to vote.

With out people like us "complainers" America would never of been formed in the first place.

Although I admit that complaining doesn't get a house built.

Typically those that complain are lower and middle class.. They can't afford to relocate to a better country.Maybe if the government made it easier on the poor and harder on the rich it would be better. Then the rich wouldn't like it here and the COULD AFFORD to leave...Wasn't america created as a sanctuary from controlling kings and queens?? We've traded that for a controlling president.. Can someone tell me why if someone has a job but doesn't make much money, why they are not entitled to have some financial assistance for health insurance??? But someone who doesn't work at all gets free food, free housing and free health insurance.. WHY???? That's why we complain...because it's simply put, NOT FAIR...We go to wok everyday, helping the economy and are government shits on us....Someone pay me to leave and i GLADLY WILL....

Actually, they are not criticizing the United States, they are bitching out the government. I travel alot with folks of political values that are 180 degrees out from mine. We all go camping and fishing. No one on these trips criticize Yellowstone, Yosemite or other national parks. They are as much America as New York or Los Angeles.

The tendency to criticize the government hearkens back to the values our founding fathers fought for and included in the Constitution of the United States with the 1st Amendment. The freedom of speech amendment. While you don't like it I must remind you that liberals complain about what they view are actions by the President that on their face violate the Constitution of the United States, as they read and interpret it.

Absent the (god), given right to criticize and resist the government we would have nightly visions of neo-Nazi rallies or video of troops on parade through our towns and cities. You get the picture.

You have 0 understanding or respect for the founding principles of the United States.

Wouldn't it be easier for you to move since you don't believe in democracy anyway? People don't openly complain about their governments in China or N. Korea, why don't you try and move there?

So now we can't complain unless we move?

Hey, I know plenty of people who complain about higher gas prices, but are they supposed to stop using gas?

People don't move because its more practical to change the government to its liking, which why we live in a democracy not a dictatorship.

Its our country too.

Because it is in people's nature to complain. Having said that, they remain here in America because even with it's negatives, America is still the best place on earth to live because we have so much freedom of choice.

It is possible to like the country you live in, and disagree with how its being run. Thats one of the main reasons this country is so great. If you would like to live under some sort of dictatorship, where you are not allowed to scrutinize the workings of your government... maybe YOU should look into some other countries. I heard North Korea has great BBQ.

Thank God for the people that complain in the U.S.A.....but only if they get together and do something about it. That is the magnificence of the U.S. The Irish did it, African Americans did it and recently the Latinos.....we all gotta do it....to change things in our country.

I like what Bono of U2 said......"The U.S. is not a country....it's an everlasting ideal that evolutionizes into the future".

I do not know. Just like the mexicans that come to the usa for all the benifits they can get, then drive around with the mexican flag on the car. My saying is if you dont like it. Move to Iraq or Bosnia and call me in a week to tell me how it is going for you!!!! Maybe then you may appreciate the USA!!!
