If they are used that day, wash and dry them that day or the next. If you just let it "air dry" on the towel bar in the bathroom they can get musty considering that there isn't much circulation in there.

Store them in a different place, preferably a moisture free linen closet..or completely clean closet with Clorox bleach before placing the the clean towels back in the closet; be sure the towels are completely DRY...Do you live in a damp area? If so place a product called Damp Rid in closet to absorb excess moisture..Damp Rid comes in different ways, one that hangs in the closet and another that sets on the floor in a small bucket. You can buy damp rid nearly everywhere and it truly works. This should eliminate the moisture that creates the mildew problem. Good luck with it..

after use hang them over a towel rack smoothly to allow max airflow and faster drying. Also don't leave them outside over night.

Wash them!!! It really works & oh yeah dry them in a dyer or outside afterwards, cuz if you just leave em in the washer, they'll still get mildew. &/or if you hang dry inside, they'll have a dank meldew-like smell too........
