I don't believe it's only "because men do".
Look at it this way ladies...
If someone chopped off your boobs today would you not be sad? Would you feel less sexy and confident?
Exactly. Boobs make you feel feminine and sexy and normal. Boobs make you a girl!
Why do girls want these huge rock hard implants lately? Most likely from what the media portrays as being HOT. Hugh Heffner is surrounded by big fake breasted bimbos. Many men want that type of life they say... so women mold themselves into the stereotypical slut looking roles to attract a mate, and what they think is some self confidence. When really, they are just attracting neg. attention.
Why NOT obsess over boobs? They're love pillows :D and fun to sleep on... *fluffs boobies* fun fun fun

I can think of a couple of reasons why women obsess so much over breast size.
For one, there is no getting around the fact that everyone has a sort of image in the back of their mind of how a woman should look, and unfortunately, for some reason, in our culture, that involves an ample bosom.
Second, there is no getting around the fact that having curves in "all the right places" does (for some weird reason) make your clothing look and fit better. =)
Third, and last, there is quite an emphasis put on the female anatomy in general by the media, models, popular culture, and yes, even MEN! It seems we haven't evolved past the "hourglass syndrome," sometimes...
Some women have been made to feel like they are less of a woman because they have smaller bosoms than others. I am not blaming anyone, because sometimes women are covetous of other's physical endowments and do this to themselves, but it is still a reason.

women obsess over breast size for two reasons. The first is because the media gives us what they perceive to be what a "woman" should look like. Also men do the same.

Women only obsess about our breast size because men are obsessed with breast size. If men didn't care then neither would we.

not all do, but those that do are the one that are more self aware of what the "standart" according to her society is suposed to be, for example in the US women get obsess about their breast b/c that's the US male population seem to have their eyes on, however if go down to Brazil women are rather obsessed with their legs, if you go to Mexico is the gluteous area, if you go to europe women are obsessed with having very small breast and almost an anorexic build, well you see the point, and thats why women are obsessed with their breast, social pressure.

I guess the women that do are caught up in what they see on television, the movies, magazines.
Society has a habit of portraying certain images as "sexy" or "beautiful".
Television shows that are now designed as reality based shows of people going in for augmentation as a needful thing. The doctors are even showing you "how much of an improvement this will make for her".
This can send all sorts of messages out to various women who are already dealing with insecurities and so this adds to it.

nicely, i'd say that ladies human beings are obsessed on breast length because they prefer them higher in an attempt to attraction to extra adult men. even as adult men are obsessed on breast length, this is because they a lifeless ringer for breasts of certain sizes!

I don't obsess. I'm happy w/ what I have and so are most of my friends. We all have nice sized breasts though, so that probably makes a difference.

Because we (men) are obsessed with breast size. The bigger, the better is our rule.

because men & media make most women feel insecure about their looks.like we have 2 look a certain way or something.so question is why do men obsses over it & then complain that women get annoying when they do it when its actually the fault of men & the media
