I want to know why it's so infatuating to a married man and playboy magazines? I think I'm good looking, why would my husband want to look at that crap? Is he just oblivious as to his surroundings? Ladies and Gentlemen, would you think that this is an illness or an addiction? Same question goes out to Therapists who deal with persons like this, is it normal? Your answers are very welcome. Help us women out there to better cope with this situation. Thank you, Angela from Anderson, IN

Lets start with the first fact, and that is that men are visually stimulated. This means that it isn't their feelings for you that stimulate them as much as the visual aspect. This doesn't mean feelings aren't important to men and that they don't have a role but does mean that men are attracted to things that utilize the visual media such as magazine, tv, movies, etc... When they look at a magazine they are stimulating their emotions. They are necessarily sitting there thing they wish you were like that or thinking about what they would do to that girl in the picture even. Often it is just an enjoyment of seeing the picture and the stimulation of that sight actually is making think about being with you. They aren't comparing the picture to you or any of the other things most women assume. In reality it is really very similar to a woman reading a romance novel. You surely don't think a woman should have to give up reading that crap just because it is what excites her emotions do you?

Playboy for married men is the next best thing to going out with the guys for beers, watching ESPN sports and other guy stuff.

For married guys, Playboy is akin to having that sweet dessert cake. Through it's pages and imagination: he IS that cool Steve McQueen rugged affluent man of adventure---who attracts the honeys.

Your man's heart is forever yours by vow of marriage; and he respects that; But his imagination soars......only through the pages of Playboy.

You really have no fears of being "traded up" like a baseball card.

Hi Angela, It is an addiction. I am deep into it myslef and struggling to correct many years of emotional abuse to my poor wife. It is a hard battle. It has nothgin to do with you or how you look or don't look it is simply a man getting addicted to the fluttery feeling otherwise knwon as adrenelin that comes form seeing a naked woman and a different one thanb he sees all the time. Please don't cut his legs out from under him. Support him but be firm that you feel disrespected and would like him to sonsider how his actions are affecting your feelings.

They have a need to feel that the women in the mag's. are crazy over them. It boast their ego. They do not have any self esteem. It would shock them to know these women would not really have anything to do with them! They like their little corner of the world.
