And if they don't?
There are also a few other things that should be addressed here...
Does anyone here actually know what it is to "impeach" a governmental official? I am guessing that the majority of people answering and not answering have a wrong idea about the phrase and the action.
THe House of Representatives vote to impeach the President. All that means is that they officially charge him with a crime. Example: President Clinton was impeached (charged with a crime) for lying to a federal grand jury. It is the same thing as an araignment in the civilian sector.
Then the case is taken to the Senate for trial. The Senate then decides if the President is guilty of the crime/s of which he has been accused.

As for the "I hope so, he should die" statements... those do more to hurt your cause than anything else (almost) you could say. How can you expect anyone to take your thoughts or your political views seriously when the best answer you can come up with is an insulting, not too well thought out, knee-jerk reaction?

If the Dems recapture the Senate in the 2006 elections (and I can only hope they do), I don't think the will impeach the President. If they do it will sully the office; that is not something they want. I suspect there are many other ways, like not passing his bills, and rolling back his tax cuts, which will do far more for the nation than impeaching him. There are many ways to pull the power out from under him, that is what we do have our checks and balances.

I'd guess probably not, but most likely because the relatively short time left to run on his final term. But that might depend on how big a victory the Dems get. If they reverse the 1994 "revolution" it might get REALLY ugly for both Bush and Cheney, especially with the new information coming out about Carl Rove's role in the outing of Valerie Plame, and Abramof's visits to the White House.

Impeachment is a strong statement and a difficult decision to make. We have only impeached 2 presidents in the past, though for far worse crimes than the current administration has perpetrated upon us. I just don't think that the impeachment will stand...not enough legislators will back it.

Truthfully, I can't imagine that he would.

Even when the democrats take back Senate, there will still be such a strong base of conservative power that any attempts at impeach would be ridiculous. No one wants half of the nation to hate them, and that's just what would happen should someone bring up impeachment.

first what do you think you are going to impeach on. you need an offense. second to the one who said bill clinton was impeached for having oral sex that is not the reason he was impeached. he was impeached for LYING under oath. which is a no no. when you are president it is a big no no. if you were to do the same you would be in jail. you libs got to get over it one man cannot cause this much anger in you and its doing you no good. why dont you spend your time spreading your ideas instead of pure hatred

No he will not.
I am not his supporter, but the ramification that will come out from the impeachment will out weight the end result. The impeachment will effect the whole country on a national level, not only domestic, especially with the war still on and still very heated.

I hope so. That man has stepped over the line so many times I quit keeping track. I mean, if they could impeach Clinton for having oral sex, can't they impeach this man for something - even if it's for being as stupid as a box of rocks?
