In civilized society, most people want to believe that being racist or prejudice is a choice we can make. The truth is that it is human nature to distrust and fear anybody that is obviously different from ourselves. We evolved to be this way during a time when having and keeping territory for ones own group or clan was essential to survival. Being able to identify a person as not being part of your group makes it possible to get them out of your area before any more of them show up to try and take your territory. Now that there are so many different types of people living so close together, it is important to learn how to get along and be tolerant. Just remember that choosing to be tolerant and trying to treat others with equality does not take away basic human nature. It is normal for people to have some prejudices, and expecting oneself and others to be completely void of them is unrealistic and emotionally unhealthy. Everybody is racist in some way; unfortunately, lots of people are unwilling to admit it. I have prejudices again certain types of people, but do my best to get past them just like you do. I think that's the healthiest way to be.

Yes, I'm almost 100% positive that somebody is racist...somewhere. You should probably reword your question. I don't think anyone is completly innocent of being a racist or at least being racially biast. I myself believe that with people (as with animals) cross breeding should be looked down upon. You wouldn't breed a Poodle and a PitBull would you? You loose the genetic uniqueness of the original breed. The same thing happens with humans. Now maybe the human race needs that to happen in order to stop racisim. If there were only one race there would be one less thing to hate each other about...but you would also loose the things that make each race unique.

Because we all have our own stereotypes as to who is what and how they act. They are based on assumptions drawn from observing a majority of people and emphasizing the negative. You could say that all mexicans eat beans (like its a bad thing) but you've failed to see that the vast majority of mexicans are employed (regardless of source and circumstance) and hardworking. Racist views are negative, and if I have to draw on those to make my race more superior than yours, well so be it.

I think I have a bit of prejudice when it comes to Eastern Indians... (you know, people from India)...
I think this is because their life goal is to have as many kids as possible... I think you've all seen an Eastern Indian woman at the store with like 10 kids... and that whole 10 wives to 1 husband thing.. that's just disgusting
and they come here to the US and go to school for free and live tax free... it just pisses me off that our country will help foriegners before they help their own citizens...

My son thinks I am but I don't think so. I feel as a white male that right now everyone is so politically correct that racism has gone way over to the other side. Hell we got little white kids running around now trying to act like they are black.

I may dislike a person but never a group. There are good and bad people in every group.
