i have less than 1 year and i'm really looking to get my foot in the door, even if it's part-time.

I know what you mean I am doing the same thing I wish we lived in the same state then we can make a day at this type of thing. Well lets see You could go around town visit a doctors office/Hospital that you would like to work in/at and ask for the Office manager be sure to Dress in your Scrubs if Office Manager is available leave your Resume with her. AND REMEMBER TO LOOK AS GOOD AS YOU CAN. WISH YOU THE BEST. AND BE PERSISTENT AND STAY FOCUS.

It is very hard. I took a full medical assistant course 2000-2001. Got my diploma, but didn't have any office experience. Well I got three years office experience and I still can't get a job. It helps if you personally know someone, are billingual, and of course luck. I'm sure you will get a job if you are persistent. Maybe take a few more courses and get a certificate or degree.

Go to the facilities you want to find work with. Talk to their HR people. Get your face known. Maybe talk to some people who work their and try to get an in with them.
