The movie is on the same lines as "The Day After Tomorrow", at the end tho, they are going to meet a submarine that will take them to the equator. The dad and son, who don't get along, make up by the end of the movie when the son thinks his dad may die in the artic conditions. I remember that the new husband was a jerk, who was more concerned with them burning his priceless things than staying alive.
