Yes. I think that Valentine's day was invented by Hersheys. They needed a way to increase business in between Halloween and Easter, so they got with Hallmark, who needed to increase business in between Christmas and Mother's Day and decided to make Valentine's Day. It was a lot easier to create a new holiday that to risk loosing their employees during a lay-off and then have to pay unemployment and for the training of the new employees.

Yes.
Flowers or a card is fine. Buying rings and diamond bracelets like they show on TV is just dumb. A person she be shown everyday how much they are loved just not one day of the year.
It's just a way to sucker men into buy things for the women in their lives.

I think it is sad that it takes some people a certain date on the calendar to be loving, and treat each other special.
That should be a every day thing, not chocolates and flowers, but love, romance, kindness etc.

It's fun for class parties, but artificial for adults. I don't need my chocolate in a special shaped box for three times the cost.

I do bc all it really is is the celebration of St.Valentine. If you truely love the one you're with, you should show it everyday--and that doesn't require buying candy, cards, or flowers.
