Product : it's the result when you multiply numbers together.
x has a certain value.
twice x = 2x.
3 less then twice x = (2x - 3)
and - it's the next number/s to be multiplied.
quantity of 3 times x = 3x
2 more then 3 times x = (3x + 2)
â
= (2x - 3)(3x + 2)
= 6x² + 4x - 9x - 6
= 6x² - 5x -6
Hope this is a help. Good luck with your studies.

(2x - 3)(3x + 2) = 6x^2 - 5x - 6
Use the FOIL method...First, Outer, Inner, Last
First...(2x)(3x) = 6x^2 <--These are the first in (2x - 3)(3x + 2)
and so on...
If you want to find x, the equation will have to equal zero. As you stated it, there was nothing on the other side of the problem. Just a blank answer.
Using the quadratic equation, you get {x | x = 3/2 or 2/3}. You have to double check, and you'll find out that when you plug in 2/3, it equals -6.7 and not zero, so it is not the answer.
{x | x = 3/2} Final Answer
